Hours of Operation

Hearts and Minds is open 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.  Families may opt for enrollment 5 days per week (Monday – Friday) or 3 days per week (Tuesday –Thursday).

Current Openings

Hearts and Minds serves families of children 6 weeks to 5 years of age.  Openings are announced each spring for the coming school year.

For the 2008-2009 school year, first priority will be given to children with birthdates of September 1, 2005 - May 1, 2007.

Program Interview

While we maintain an open door policy for currently enrolled families, unknown persons are not invited in for tours during program hours.  An evening interview will first be scheduled, as this is the best way for the teacher to fully attend to conversation with you.  Once a match in program offerings and your family needs has been determined, you will be invited to observe unannounced during program hours.

Application

All families seeking consideration for the 2008-2009 school year must complete a program application and submit a $100 administrative fee.  This is a one time fee and is non-refundable.

Returning families and siblings are given first priority for enrollment.

Wait List

Families are encouraged to join the wait list to be first informed of new openings.  If a family experiences extenuating circumstances (job change, move, etc) an opening may occur during the school year.  If an opening does not occur during the school year, applicants on the wait list will be given first consideration for any openings the next year (after returning families of course).

Full time (Monday-Friday) applicants are prioritized for new openings.

Wait list placement requires a completed application (details above).

Program Tuition

Everything about Hearts and Minds is designed to promote optimal development for young children.  This includes developing predictable routines and providing a stable learning environment and playmates.

Families commit to our program of excellent care by payment of an annual tuition.

The program tuition covers all child and family involvement.  In addition to a small group size, low teacher to child ratio, and individualized curriculum, the program tuition includes nutritious meal service (a $1900 value), Music Together classes (a $540 value), and a keepsake developmental portfolio capturing your child's development and daily experience in the program (a $200 value).  In addition, free classes for parents are planned several times per year (such as discipline courses, first aid and cpr training, parent-child music classes, etc.)

This is an all inclusive tuition with no hidden or additional charges for activities, supplies, or field trips.

All children are invited to attend the following Summer Program as part of their annual program tuition with no additional fee.  Your tuition will cover a full year of care.

A program calendar is provided annually and specifies all closed dates.

No further pro-ration of tuition is provided for vacation, illness, withdrawal, or expulsion.
